Basic Trust Training tier 1 | Sirppi, Kinuski

This is once again the moment when my trainings don't follow each other in chronological order. Sirppi and Kinuski were actually trained before they finally found their final handler. It isn't properly mentioned in the story, but their handler is royal harpy called Miekkalilja (in english Swordlily), who needs two kukuris to pull her carriage around and protect her while she is on her ways doing harpy stuff. I made a mention about she loosing her feathers because honestly I didn't draw her hands right in this picture. I blame fully their position for it.

Rarely the friendship starts right away. But Sirppi and Kinuski had spent a whole day under burning, hot sun, that they were ready to almost give themselves to anyone who would walk by. They were laying down in the shade of their stalls and it did kept most of the heat away, but their long coat and fuzzy tails weren't exactly helping the situation. Sirppi lifted her head and licked the water bucket near her, seeking some comfort from cold liquid. They both were listening sounds coming from outside, ears perked up.

It was market day. During this day all residents from nearby villages gathered their goods and came into the city of Quingalo, near the deserts opening, to sell their stuff and earn some cold hard cash from their effort. It was big event and that's why there was all kinds of sellers all around the country. Rich and poor both flocked the main plaza, trying to find something to buy or just had fun with relatives or friends who lived far away. Sirppi and Kinuski belonged into the richer side of the town. Their long coat was groomed and both of them had received perfect training, so they were valuable mounts to someone lucky. Sirppi opened her eye and laid her gaze to her partner. She had been fearing this day. The raven dove lifted her head and placed her chin on Kinuski's shoulders, resting her paw on the amber dove's paw. They were fearing that they would be separated after this day. Kinuski nuzzled her muzzle on Sirppi's neck and cooed softly.

Suddenly someone knocked on their stable door. Both kukuris raised their heads and looked at the young female harpy, who was observing the animals curiously. She had neat, black hair which shined purple in the sun, but her coat of feathers was thin; probably because of moult time. But her eyes were wide and she smiled softly when seeing the two kukuris.
''They're beautiful'', she said to someone behind her, ''How much they cost?''
''Are you sure you want these? I'm sure there are much more to see!'' answered the voice behind her, sounding inpatient. The girl stretched the corner of her mouth, but didn't get away from kukuris. Sirppi got up on her feet to see the others. Harpy was talking with another one, much older male harpy, who had same kind of feathers than girl. They both weared blueish silver royal gowns, glimmering in the sun like ice.
''It's hot day and I'd prefer spending it in the shade. If these kukuris are as good as their owner told, they're fine for my needs'', the girl said, grinning slightly. The male shook his head.
''I'm big girl already.''
''I know, I know... Sometimes you're just like your mother, so stubborn'', the male said and proceeded to pay the kukuris. Sirppi cooed loudly, making Kinuski stand up too. They were looking curiously at the harpy girl, who silently pulled something out from her large sleeve. The doves eyes sparkled when she offered sugar to them.
''I'm sure we'll have fun together'', the girl said, reaching for the head of Kinuski. Sirppi kept her eyes on the hand, but didn't do anything when harpy touched the forehead and proceeded to scratch Kinuski between her ears.
''What a soft coat you have...'', she murmured when Kinuski cooed happily. Sirppi snorted and pushed the hand away, offering her head for scratches too.
''One at the time!'' harpy laughed, but stretched her both arms and scratched both doves from forehead. She had to stop once the previous owner of kukuris offered bridles for her.
''They are yours now, your highness'', they said, ''Please, be careful with them.''
''I will. Thanks!'' the girl answered. It didn't took long from her to put bridles on both of the doves and she started to steer them towards carriage. The older male, presumable her father, tried to help, but she was stubbornly holding both of them.
''I need to learn how to control two at the same time'', she just stated. Kinuski and Sirppi were following her nicely though, they were trained for this. They just were happy that they were together.
